SPECIFICS OF THE PRACTICAL TRAINING OF OFFICERS OF UKRAINIAN NAVAL FORCES ON THE BASIS OF NATO
Abstract
The specifics of the practical training of officers of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of NATO standards have been analyzed in the article. It is emphasized that a modern officer must possess a sufficient level of knowledge and skills that will allow him to competently solve the tasks of military service. It is noted that officers’ practical training according to NATO standards in military educational institutions currently in force in Ukraine involves several key principles: compatibility (ensuring the possibility of interaction of Ukrainian officers with officers of NATO member countries during joint operations); modularity of training (development of flexible programs that allow training courses to be adapted to specific needs and conditions); focus on practical skills (emphasis on practical training, regular training and exercises); use of modern technologies (integration of modern information systems and technologies in the training process). The main challenges regarding the practical training of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine based on NATO standards have been highlighted: technical support; personnel support and financing. It is noted that in order to ensure a high level of training, it is necessary to create a modern educational and material base, which includes simulators and training simulators; marine landfills and NATO educational centers. Examples of implementation of officers’ practical training according to NATO standards by various educational institutions have been given. It is emphasized that in 2024, NATO and Ukraine created the first joint institution - the JATEC Center (NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center), whose main tasks are, in particular, to improve the practical training of officers of the Armed Forces of the Navy according to NATO standards. It has been concluded that the implementation of NATO standards in the system of training of officers of the Ukrainian Navy is an important step on the way to the country's integration into the Euro-Atlantic security space, and the relevant practical training of officers of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Navy according to NATO standards is of great importance.
