TRAINING OF SOCIAL WORK SPECIALISTS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article substantiates the peculiarities of institutionalization of the system of providing social services to persons and families in difficult life circumstances. The author focuses on the need for specialized training of social work specialists for the social services provision; the essence, th structure and the features of building a model of professional activity and personality of a specialist in social work are characterized.
The relevance of the problem of training specialists in social work in higher education institutions, which we interpret to be an important condition for the successful activities and as an impact on the quality of social services, has been determined. The basics of the content of training specialists in social work are revealed. The problems related to the research of the optimal conditions for professional training of specialists in social work are analyzed.
The three-level approach in the training of social work specialists, which is the starting point for building a system for training future specialists in higher education institutions, and is the basis for the development of the educational and professional programs, the curricula and the programs of disciplines, has been characterized.
It is emphasized that professionals for the social sphere must be prepared in such a way that they should be able to change, eliminate and correct negative social manifestations in the society. And this is possible to do only in education institutions that form the training in new positions and take into consideration the trends in the development of social policy in the country. Therefore, today higher education institutions of Ukraine that train social workers face a difficult task - training professionals. Such a specialist must master a large and heterogeneous amount of knowledge that serves as the basis for professional skills during the process of his/her training.
It is concluded that at the present stage the relevance of this topic is obvious, since this is due to the fact that the development of social work in our country has most likely shown the need for professionalization, which in its turn requires higher attention to the formation of professional training of a specialist in social work.
