THE CONCEPT OF ETHICAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Abstract

The article considers the concept of ethical competence of future foreign language teachers in the educational process. Based on the analysis of philosophical and psychological-pedagogical literature, modern concepts, the concepts of "competence" and "ethical competence" were clarified. Competence is perceived through the prism of personal qualities that involve a person's cognitive and intellectual activity in practical activities; it determines the level of professionalism, readiness to apply one’s knowledge and skills. Ethical competence is defined as an integrated characteristic of a person, representing a set of knowledge, abilities, skills, motivational and value orientation and personal qualities that contribute to the implementation of professional activities in accordance with the norms and requirements of professional ethics; as an integrated personality characteristic, which represents a set of knowledge, abilities, skills, motivational and value orientation and personal qualities that contribute to the implementation of professional activity in accordance with the norms and requirements of professional ethics. The main task of the educational process is to provide future specialists with a system of knowledge, abilities and skills that guarantee their future functional duties, as well as ensuring the cultural and spiritual development of each student’s personality, educating young people in the spirit of the best universal values. Therefore, the processes of education and upbringing are inseparable, they must be consistent and continuous. Ethical competence is essential for the correct setting of goals, tasks, the choice of forms and methods of learning a foreign language in the educational process, helps to find the right line in each unique situational activity. The imperfect definition of the concept of "ethical competence" of a future foreign language teacher gives rise to ethical and pedagogical errors. They lead to the fact that the future teachers cannot correctly choose the tactics of their behavior.
