MILITARY-PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT A SPORTS-TYPE INSTITUTION IN THE WAR CONDITIONS: HISTORY AND MODERNITY

Abstract

The article highlights the problem of students’ military-patriotic education of a sports-type institution in wartime conditions. Parallels of the present and the past have been drawn between.
The relevance of the problem is due to the situation in the country, which has developed as a result of armed and informational aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The main task for the younger generation is the education of a high patriotic consciousness, love for the native Motherland, fulfilment of the public and constitutional duty to protect and integrity of Ukraine. It is play a significant role in volunteering, the All-Ukrainian children’s and youth military-patriotic game "Sokil" ("Dzhura"), studying the subject "Defense of Ukraine". Studying the centuries-old history and educational traditions of our ancestors, the main directions for improving the educational process in various institutions are defined, including sports lyceums (taking into account the ideas of military-patriotic education of youth in the system of the Ukrainian Cossacks, participation in the All-Ukrainian military-patriotic game "Sokil", study of educational discipline from the position of the Defense of Ukraine, organization of volunteer activities), since the educational institution acts as a source not only of knowledge, but also of changing the style of consciousness, thinking and behaviour of the modern generation. Language, customs, historical past, awareness of the current situation in Ukraine play an important role in the upbringing of a patriot in the conditions of an institution.
The peculiarities of military-patriotic education in the leading countries of the world, in particular Israel, have been studied. As the country experience shows, fostering a sense of national dignity contributes to their rapid physical and military-patriotic development. The formation of national self-awareness is a system that has been created over the years. This is a system of beliefs, ideals, customs, traditions, views that shape the worldview of the younger generation.
