Methodological competency of a teacher of technologies as basis of his/her competitiveness

Abstract

This article contains analysis of the scientific sources on the topic of the research demonstrating that there is a significant amount of academic writings dedicated to the implementation of the skills approach to the teachers’ training. At the same time, the issue of development of methodological competency of the teachers of technologies, specifically at the different stages of their professional activity, during their attendance of the courses of professional development still is not enough observed in the system of postgraduate teacher education.
The article describes the structure of the methodological competence of technologies teacher, the development of which takes place in the system of postgraduate teacher education according to the principles of humanism, human centrism, pedagogy of partnership, differentiation of the education. Also, this article reveals the peculiarities of the process of education on the courses of training of teachers of technologies: differentiation in organization of the training, extension of the training’s content, diversification of the ways and methods of the training, using of the ICT-based technologies, measuring of the outcomes of training.
The approaches to the development of the methodological competency of the teachers of the subject «Technologies» that comply with the Law of Ukraine «On Education» (2017), principles of Conception of the New Ukrainian School, objectives of the State Standard of General Secondary Education as basis of substantive content of educational process and current curriculum on manual skills and technologies are outlined.
The article provides characteristics of structural components of methodological competency of the teachers of technologies that are the basis for planning of educational process at the teacher training courses as part of implementation of professional module. Organized in such way educational process at the courses of postgraduate teacher education contributes to the teachers’ competitivity in modern socio-economic realities.
