THE USE OF COMBAT EXPERIENCE OF UNMANNED SYSTEMS UNITS IN THE PROCESS OF MODERNISING THE TRAINING OF OFFICERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE
Abstract
This article reflects the results of a study of the specifics of implementing the combat experience of the Unmanned Systems Forces (hereinafter referred to as USF) into the training of future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as AFU), based on the combat experience of the UAS units that were created on February 9, 2024 in the AFU. The article analyses the types of unmanned aerial vehicles (hereinafter referred to as UAVs) used by the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
It is determined that the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation has led to significant changes in the field of military higher education. The activities of higher military education institutions have switched to martial law, which has forced the participants of the educational process to adapt to the new conditions, namely to start mastering new military professions.
Rapid progress in the design of unmanned systems leads to the active improvement and introduction of the latest technologies in military affairs that is why higher military education institutions must respond to progress in a timely manner and introduce the latest training methods.
The problem of introducing combat experience in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles into the curriculum of higher military education institutions of Ukraine has often attracted the attention of both domestic and foreign scientists and researchers. Obviously, the solution to the scientific problem of the announced problem requires further rethinking, since the nature of warfare is constantly changing and what was relevant until recently is now outdated or even dangerous to use.
The results of the conducted research allow us to conclude that the introduction of the combat experience of the UAVs into the training of future officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will provide an opportunity to develop sufficient competencies to further command units armed with unmanned aerial vehicles.
