LANGUAGE TRAINING OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATORS: CONCEPTUAL DIMENSIONS
Abstract
The article examines the components of the speech competence of public servants, in particular, not only the features of their communication practice, but also the specifics of professional training, which involves the acquisition of knowledge at all language levels, primarily lexical, syntactic and phraseological, where the latter concerns fixed speech clichés. It is determined that the greatest threat to the system of the Ukrainian language is Russian-language calque, which for two centuries has been actively polluting our national language and, above all, its business style, which is the object of our research. The subject of the research is the forms of the Ukrainian language – substitutes for Russian-language calques, which are logical on the basis of our national language and in the context of current events, when the open and specific enemy in the war is the former metropolis with its Russian language, which dominated education and office work in Ukraine for those two hundred years. A number of examples of the use of individual lexemes and syntactic units, calqued from the Russian language, in the business speech of managers, lawyers and educators are analyzed and options for their replacement with specific and logical Ukrainian counterparts are proposed.
It is concluded that among the requirements of the legislation to ensure the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state language, it should be noted that its purification from foreign language elements, etc. Russian-language calques, in particular in the business style. Specific Ukrainian words proposed for such replacements are logical and organic, and therefore a public servant must have the appropriate knowledge and linguistic flair.
