FORMATION OF INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF EDUCATORS IN THE CONTENT OF TEACHER’S-PHILOLOGISTS POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION: UKRAINIAN-POLISH CORRELATIONS
Abstract
The article investigates the problem of the formation of intercultural competence of students in the content of postgraduate education of teachers of philology. Emphasis is placed on Ukrainian-Polish cultural and historical ties in the study of linguistic and literary disciplines. It is noted that education is a tangible factor influencing the collective consciousness of the nation, so when improving the skills of teachers who teach philology, it is important to include these topics in the content of various activities. It is proved that the forming the culture of interstate good neighborliness, interethnic tolerance should be considered within a broader problem, namely: the introduction of a cross-cutting content line "Civil Responsibility" in general secondary education in teaching Ukrainian, Ukrainian and foreign literature. The importance of forming civic competence of educators, which includes the acquisition of national self-awareness, education of patriotism, and respect and tolerance for ethnic groups inhabiting Ukraine and the peoples of other countries in general and neighboring European countries in particular. This approach will promote the development of skills to establish friendly relations with speakers of different languages, representatives of different cultures and religions.
Consideration of the problem intercultural competence of students in general and tracking of Ukrainian-Polish cultural and historical ties in particular during various forms of professional development of teachers of philology will help improve the socialization of students, their perception of Ukrainian culture as part of European and world heritage. This will contribute to the development of the young generation’s desire to build a common European future based on good neighborliness.
