DIGITALIZATION OF PRIMARY EDUCATION: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

Abstract

The essence of the concept of «digitalization» as a process that involves the transition of industry information and communication to digital format is substantiated in the article; the experience of foreign countries (Estonia, Austria, Great Britain) in implementing digital transformation in education is analyzed (application of digital educational information platforms, designed to ensure effective interaction of pupils, their parents, teachers and school administration; active application of digital technologies in education process; compulsory study of programming and information technologies in general secondary education); the features of digitalization of the educational process of primary school were explored in the article. The problems of forced digital transformation of education are traced: the lack of quality Ukrainian-language and the need to create their own content for the lessons; considerable of time and personal resources of the teacher; weak consideration of the age special feature of pupil of primary school; lack of systematic legal framework and educational materials on the digitalization of education, including of primary school; insufficiency of conditions for advanced training of teachers of primary school in information and digital competence; insufficient provision of participants of the educational process with electronic educational resources; significant material costs; lack of a systematic approach to ensuring the digitalization of education; the need for the formation of general skills of working with digital information in pupil of primary school. Prospects for the systematic solution of problems of digitalization of the educational process of primary school are determined: diminution of the number of paper work for the teacher; ensuring the mobility of interaction of all participants in the educational process; increasing the level of pupils’ motivation to learn; preparation of a competitive graduate.
