Historical and pedagogical research of the problem of development of postgraduate education of teachers of philological disciplines in southern regions (the 40s of the XX century – the beginning of the XXI century)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of historical and pedagogical researches on the problem of development of domestic postgraduate education of teachers of philological disciplines in the southern regions of Ukraine in the period of the 40s of the XX century – the beginning of the XXI century. The author traced how the main stages of formation and development of postgraduate teacher education were reflected in scientific and pedagogical sources. 

It is proved that a small number of researches on the development of postgraduate teacher education until the 80s of the twentieth century did not contribute to the historical and pedagogical reflection on the functioning of this field in general and postgraduate education of teachers of philology in the southern regions of Ukraine in particular. The scientific research of scientists focused on the related problems of education. Further thorough research is a source of scientific knowledge of this problem: in the fundamental historical and pedagogical works traced the evolution of the content of postgraduate pedagogical education, identified and characterized the leading trends in the functioning of this educational field, highlighted the national specifics of this process. Elaboration of these researches promoted revealing of national features of the development of postgraduate education of teachers of philological disciplines in the southern areas of Ukraine in 40th years of the XX-th century – at the beginning of the XXI century. 

The historical and pedagogical searches devoted to the regional development of the researched branch of education are analyzed. The study of these materials allowed to highlight the features of the development of postgraduate teacher education in different regions of Ukraine, to emphasize the features of the southern regions of Ukraine, which had an impact on the functioning of this sphere.

The works of scientists studying the development of postgraduate pedagogical education in other countries are considered; this contributes to the possibility of extrapolating such experience to the modern educational space.
